MONUMENTS & MEMORIALS
Washington, D.C. is famous for its monuments and memorials. While you're in town, be sure to check out the National World War II Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, and of course, the National Mall, which includes the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
Plan ahead! There are too many museums in the D.C. area, but you might be able to knock a few off your list. The Smithsonian offers eleven museums and galleries on the National Mall, in addition to six other museums in the area. The newly-opened Museum of the Bible includes the Assyrian Bible, and the International Spy Museum is always a good time. The United States Holocaust Museum is a must visit and serves as a stark reminder of the consequences when we fail to take a stand against injustice.
